Scripture Focus: Jesus tells the parable of the wheat and the weeds.

"This parable of the wheat and the weeds might at first seem out of place with our usual image of Jesus as the one who came to show love and mercy. But when we remember that we do long for righteous judgment, and when we trust that God is not only righteous and fair, but most of all full of grace and compassion, then we can trust that even God’s judgment will be an act of grace that will bless us and our world."

March 12, 2017 - To See the Kingdom of God

Scripture Focus: Jesus tells Nicodemus that no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born from above; no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and Spirit.

"We can’t see the kingdom as it already is around or as its time of fullness is drawing near without being born anew. Maybe that’s because we can’t automatically see the world as it really is, as God sees it...there is something in us and around us that keeps us from seeing as God sees."

It is an invitation to relationship with a God who is just as complex as our world and our questions."
